Temple Work Resumed

5 When the prophets, ^(A)Haggai the prophet and ^(B)Zechariah the son of Iddo, prophesied to the Jews who were in Judah and Jerusalem in the name of the God of Israel, who was over them, ² then ^(C)Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel and Jeshua the son of Jozadak rose up and began to rebuild the house of God which is in Jerusalem; and ^(D)the prophets of God were with them, supporting them.

⁹ “The Lord of armies says this: ‘Let your hands be ^(A)strong, you who are listening in these days to these words from the mouth of the ^(B)prophets, those who spoke in the day that the foundation of the house of the Lord of armies was laid, so that the temple might be built.

¹² ‘For there will be ^(A)the seed of peace: the vine will yield its fruit, the land will yield its produce, and the heavens will provide their ^(B)dew; and I will give to the remnant of this people ^(C)all these things as an inheritance.
