Isaiah’s Call and Mission
6 In the year that King Uzziah(A) died, I saw the Lord(B) seated on a high and lofty(C) throne,(D) and the hem of his robe filled the temple. 2 Seraphim[a] were standing above him; they each had six wings:(E) with two they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they flew.(F) 3 And one called to another:
4 The foundations of the doorways shook(I) at the sound of their voices, and the temple was filled with smoke.
5 Then I said:
Woe is me(J) for I am ruined[b]
because I am a man of unclean lips
and live among a people of unclean lips,(K)
and because my eyes have seen the King,
the Lord of Armies.

The Ancient of Days and the Son of Man
9 “As I kept watching,
thrones were set in place,(A)
and the Ancient of Days took his seat.
His clothing was white like snow,(B)
and the hair of his head like whitest wool.(C)
His throne was flaming fire;(D)
its wheels were blazing fire.(E)
10 A river of fire was flowing,
coming out from his presence.
Thousands upon thousands(F) served him;
ten thousand times ten thousand(G) stood before him.
The court was convened,(H)
and the books were opened.(I)
