⁴ so that ^(A)the Lord may fulfill His ^[a]promise which He spoke regarding me, saying, ‘^(B)If your sons are careful about their way, ^(C)to walk before Me in ^[b]truth with all their heart and all their soul, ^[c](D)you shall not be deprived of a man to occupy the throne of Israel.’

¹⁸ then I will establish your royal throne as I covenanted with your father David, saying, ‘^[a](A)You shall not lack a man to be ruler in Israel.’
