⁴ or to pay attention to myths^(A) and endless genealogies. These promote empty speculations rather than God’s plan,^(B) which operates by faith.

⁴ They will turn away from hearing the truth and will turn aside to myths.^(A)

¹⁴ and may not pay attention to Jewish myths^(A) and the commands of men who reject the truth.^(B)
