¹⁷ Ahaziah died according to the word of the Lord that Elijah had spoken. Since he had no son, Joram^[a](A) became king in his place. This happened in the second year of Judah’s King Jehoram^(B) son of Jehoshaphat.^{[b] 18} The rest of the events of Ahaziah’s reign, along with his accomplishments, are written in the Historical Record of Israel’s Kings.^[c](C)

³⁴ Now the rest of the events of Jehu’s reign, along with all his accomplishments and all his might, are written in the Historical Record of Israel’s Kings.^{(A) 35} Jehu rested with his fathers and was buried in Samaria. His son Jehoahaz^(B) became king in his place. ³⁶ The length of Jehu’s reign over Israel in Samaria was 28 years.^(C)
