³ But the angel of the Lord said to Elijah the Tishbite,^(A) “Go and meet the messengers of the king of Samaria^(B) and ask them, ‘Is it because there is no God in Israel that you are going to inquire of Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron?’

¹¹ But Jehoshaphat said, “Isn’t there a prophet of the Lord here? Let’s inquire of Yahweh through him.”^(A)

One of the servants of the king of Israel answered, “Elisha son of Shaphat,^(B) who used to pour water on Elijah’s hands, is here.”

⁸ When Elisha the man of God heard that the king of Israel tore his clothes, he sent a message to the king, “Why have you torn your clothes? Have him come to me, and he will know there is a prophet in Israel.”^(A)
