³² In those days the Lord began to reduce the size of Israel.^(A) Hazael^(B) defeated the Israelites throughout their territory: ³³ from the Jordan eastward, all the land of Gilead—the Gadites, the Reubenites, and the Manassites—from Aroer^(C) which is by the Arnon Valley^(D) through Gilead to Bashan.^[a]
