24 “No!” the king replied to Araunah. “I will buy them from you at full[a] price. I won’t offer to the Lord my God burnt offerings that cost me nothing.” So David bought the threshing floor and the oxen for 50 silver shekels,[b] 25 built[c] an altar to the Lord there, and presented burnt offerings and peace offerings. So the Lord answered David’s prayers for the land[d] and the pestilence on Israel was averted.
