² All of his powerful and magnificent accomplishments^(A) and the detailed account of Mordecai’s great rank to which the king had honored him,^(B) have they not been written in the Historical Records of the Kings of Media and Persia?^{(C) 3} Mordecai the Jew was second only to King Ahasuerus,^(D) famous among the Jews, and highly popular with many of his relatives.^(E) He continued to seek good for his people and to speak for the welfare of all his descendants.^(F)
