⁸ I will bring you to the land that I swore^[a](A) to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and I will give it to you as a possession. I am Yahweh.”

³ Why is the Lord bringing us into this land to die by the sword? Our wives and little children will become plunder.^(A) Wouldn’t it be better for us to go back to Egypt?”^(B)

⁸ If the Lord is pleased with us, He will bring us into this land, a land flowing with milk and honey,^(A) and give it to us.
