¹⁷ This is what the Lord says: “^(A)By this you shall know that I am the Lord: behold, I am going to strike ^[a]the water that is in the Nile with the staff that is in my hand, and ^(B)it will be turned into blood.

¹⁹ Then the soothsayer priests said to Pharaoh, “^(A)This is the finger of God.” But Pharaoh’s heart was ^[a]hardened, and he did not listen to them, just as the Lord had said.

^22 (A)But on that day I will set apart the land of Goshen, where My people are ^[a]living, so that no swarms of flies will be there, in order that you may know that ^[b](B)I, the Lord, am in the midst of the land.

⁷ Then ^(A)Pharaoh’s servants said to him, “How long shall this man be ^(B)a snare to us? Let the ^[a]people go, so that they may serve the Lord their God. Do you not yet ^[b]realize that Egypt is destroyed?”

⁴ And ^(A)I will ^[a]harden Pharaoh’s heart, and ^(B)he will chase after them; and I will be honored through Pharaoh and all his army, and ^(C)the Egyptians will know that I am the Lord.” And they did so.

^18 (A)Then the Egyptians will know that I am the Lord, when I am honored through Pharaoh, through his chariots, and through his horsemen.”

²⁵ He ^[a]caused their chariot wheels to swerve, and He made them drive with difficulty; so the Egyptians each said, “Let me flee from Israel, ^(A)for the Lord is fighting for them against the Egyptians.”
