^22 (A)But the soothsayer priests of Egypt did the same with their secret arts; and Pharaoh’s heart was ^[a]hardened, and he did not listen to them, just as the Lord had said.

⁷ However, ^(A)the soothsayer priests did the same with their secret arts, ^[a]making frogs come up on the land of Egypt.

¹⁸ The soothsayer priests tried with their secret arts to produce ^[a]gnats, but ^(A)they could not; so there were ^[b]gnats on every person and animal.

⁹ But they will not make further progress; for their ^(A)foolishness will be obvious to all, just ^(B)as was that also of ^[a]Jannes and Jambres.

¹³ He ^(A)performs great signs, so that he even makes ^(B)fire come down out of the sky to the earth in the presence of people. ¹⁴ And he ^(C)deceives ^(D)those who live on the earth because of ^(E)the signs which it was given him to perform ^[a](F)in the presence of the beast, telling those who live on the earth to make an image to the beast who *had the ^(G)wound of the sword and has come to life.
