³⁸ but go to my father’s family and to my own clan, and get a wife for my son.’^(A)

² Go at once to Paddan Aram,^[a](A) to the house of your mother’s father Bethuel.^(B) Take a wife for yourself there, from among the daughters of Laban, your mother’s brother.^(C)

⁴ And Shechem said to his father Hamor, “Get me this girl as my wife.”^(A)
