5 Or do you think it’s without reason the Scripture says that the Spirit who lives in us yearns jealously?[a](A)

6 But He gives greater grace. Therefore He says:

God resists the proud,
but gives grace to the humble.(B)[b]

7 Therefore, submit to God. But resist the Devil, and he will flee from you.(C)
