They ^(B)strike me reproachfully on the cheek,
They gather together against me.

^6 (A)I gave My back to those who struck Me,
And ^(B)My cheeks to those who plucked out the beard;
I did not hide My face from shame and ^(C)spitting.

¹⁴ Just as many were astonished at you,
So His ^(A)visage^[a] was marred more than any man,
And His form more than the sons of men;

^30 (A)Let him give his cheek to the one who strikes him,
And be full of reproach.
