Judges 11:30-32

³⁰ Jephthah made a ·promise [vow] to the Lord, saying, “If you will ·hand over the Ammonites to me [^Lgive the sons of Ammon into my hand], ³¹ I will ·give you [offer; sacrifice] as a burnt offering [Lev. 1:1–17] the first thing that comes out of the door of my house to meet me when I return ·from the victory [^Lin peace]. It will be the Lord’s.”

³² Then Jephthah went over to fight the ·Ammonites [^Lsons/descendants of Ammon], and the Lord ·handed them over to him [^Lgave them into his hand].
