Commissioning the Twelve

10 Summoning His 12 disciples,^(A) He gave them authority over unclean spirits, to drive them out and to heal every^[a] disease and sickness.^(B)

The 12 Apostles

¹³ Then^(A) He went up the mountain^(B) and summoned those He wanted, and they came to Him. ¹⁴ He also appointed 12—He also named them apostles^[a](C)—to be with Him, to send them out to preach,^{(D) 15} and to have authority to^[b] drive out demons.

⁷ He^(A) summoned^(B) the Twelve^(C) and began to send^(D) them out in pairs and gave them authority over unclean^(E) spirits.^(F)
