⁸ And the one, having been prompted^[a] by her mother, says, “Give me here on a platter the head of John the Baptist”. ⁹ And [although] having been grieved, the king ordered that it be given, because of the oaths and the ones reclining-back-with him [to eat]. ¹⁰ And having sent, he beheaded John in the prison.
