6 Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. Let not man therefore put asunder that, which God hath [a]coupled together.
7 [b]They said to him, Why did then (A) Moses command to give a bill of divorcement, and to put her away?
8 He said unto them, Moses, [c]because of the hardness of your heart, [d]suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.
