Jesus Is Buried

^57 (A)Now when it was evening, a rich man from Arimathea came, named Joseph, who himself had also become a disciple of Jesus.

²⁵ And there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon; and this man was ^(A)righteous and devout, ^(B)looking forward to the consolation of Israel; and the Holy Spirit was upon him.

³⁸ And at that very ^[a]moment she came up and began giving thanks to God, and continued to speak about Him to all those who were ^(A)looking forward to the redemption of Jerusalem.

⁵¹ (he had not consented to their plan and action), a man from Arimathea, a city of the Jews, who was ^(A)waiting for the kingdom of God—

³⁸ Now ^(A)after these things Joseph of Arimathea, being a disciple of Jesus, but a ^(B)secret one for ^(C)fear of the ^[a]Jews, requested of Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus; and Pilate granted permission. So he came and took away His body.
