² He lets me lie down in green pastures;^(A)
he leads me beside quiet waters.^(B)

¹¹ He protects his flock like a shepherd;^(A)
he gathers the lambs in his arms
and carries them in the fold of his garment.
He gently leads those that are nursing.

¹⁶ They will no longer hunger;
they will no longer thirst;
the sun will no longer strike them,
nor will any scorching heat.^(A)
17 For the Lamb who is at the center of the throne
will shepherd them;^(B)
he will guide them to springs of the waters of life,^(C)
and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.^(D)
