²⁴ Why do you hide
and forget our affliction and oppression?^(A)

¹⁵ When you spread out your hands in prayer,^(A)
I will refuse to look at you;
even if you offer countless prayers,
I will not listen.^(B)
Your hands are covered with blood.^(C)

¹⁷ I will wait for the Lord,^(A)
who is hiding his face from the house of Jacob.^(B)
I will wait for him.

¹⁷ Because of his sinful greed I was angry,^(A)
so I struck him; I was angry and hid;
but he went on turning back to the desires of his heart.
