² who testified to God’s word and to the testimony^[a] about Jesus Christ,^(A) in all he saw.^[b]

John’s Vision of the Risen Lord

⁹ I, John, your brother and partner in the tribulation, kingdom, and endurance that are in Jesus, was on the island called Patmos because of God’s word and the testimony about Jesus.^[a](A)

¹⁷ So the dragon was furious with the woman and left to wage war^(A) against the rest of her offspring^[a]—those who keep God’s commands and have the testimony about Jesus.^(B)

¹⁰ Then I fell at his feet to worship him, but he said to me, “Don’t do that! I am a fellow slave with you and your brothers who have the testimony about^[a] Jesus.^(A) Worship God, because the testimony about Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”^[b]

The Saints Reign with the Messiah

⁴ Then I saw thrones, and people seated on them who were given authority to judge.^(A) I also saw the people^[a](B) who had been beheaded^[b] because of their testimony about Jesus^(C) and because of God’s word, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and who had not accepted the mark on their foreheads or their hands.^(D) They came to life^(E) and reigned with the Messiah for 1,000 years.
