5 He saved us[a]— not by works which we did in [our] righteousness, but according-to[b] His mercy, through a washing[c] of [d] regeneration[e] and a renewing[f] of [g] the Holy Spirit, 6 Whom He richly poured-out upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 in order that having been declared-righteous by the grace of that One, we might become heirs according-to[h] the hope of eternal life.
