New English Translation (NET)
Version
Psalm 31:9-16

Have mercy on me, Lord, for I am in distress!
My eyes grow dim[a] from suffering.[b]
I have lost my strength.[c]
10 For my life nears its end in pain;
my years draw to a close as I groan.[d]
My strength fails me because of[e] my sin,
and my bones become brittle.[f]
11 Because of all my enemies, people disdain me;[g]
my neighbors are appalled by my suffering[h]
those who know me are horrified by my condition;[i]
those who see me in the street run away from me.
12 I am forgotten, like a dead man no one thinks about;[j]
I am regarded as worthless, like a broken jar.[k]
13 For I hear what so many are saying,[l]
the terrifying news that comes from every direction.[m]
When they plot together against me,
they figure out how they can take my life.
14 But I trust in you, O Lord!
I declare, “You are my God!”
15 You determine my destiny.[n]
Rescue me from the power of my enemies and those who chase me.
16 Smile[o] on your servant.
Deliver me because of your faithfulness.

Leviticus 23:1-8

Regulations for Israel’s Appointed Times

23 The Lord spoke to Moses: “Speak to the Israelites and tell them, ‘These are the Lord’s appointed times which you must proclaim as holy assemblies—my appointed times.[a]

The Weekly Sabbath

“‘Six days work may be done, but on the seventh day there must be a Sabbath of complete rest,[b] a holy assembly. You must not do any work; it is a Sabbath to the Lord in all the places where you live.

The Passover and Feast of Unleavened Bread

“‘These are the Lord’s appointed times, holy assemblies, which you must proclaim at their appointed time. In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month, at twilight,[c] is a Passover offering to the Lord. Then on the fifteenth day of the same month[d] will be the Feast of Unleavened Bread to the Lord; seven days you must eat unleavened bread. On the first day there will be a holy assembly for you; you must not do any regular work.[e] You must present a gift to the Lord for seven days, and the seventh day is a holy assembly; you must not do any regular work.’”

Luke 22:1-13

Judas’ Decision to Betray Jesus

22 Now the Feast of Unleavened Bread,[a] which is called the Passover, was approaching. The[b] chief priests and the experts in the law[c] were trying to find some way[d] to execute[e] Jesus,[f] for they were afraid of the people.[g]

Then[h] Satan[i] entered Judas, the one called Iscariot, who was one of the twelve.[j] He went away and discussed with the chief priests and officers of the temple guard[k] how he might[l] betray Jesus,[m] handing him over to them.[n] They[o] were delighted[p] and arranged to give him money.[q] So[r] Judas[s] agreed and began looking for an opportunity to betray Jesus[t] when no crowd was present.[u]

The Passover

Then the day for the feast[v] of Unleavened Bread came, on which the Passover lamb had to be sacrificed.[w] Jesus[x] sent Peter and John, saying, “Go and prepare the Passover[y] for us to eat.”[z] They[aa] said to him, “Where do you want us to prepare[ab] it?” 10 He said to them, “Listen,[ac] when you have entered the city, a man carrying a jar of water[ad] will meet you.[ae] Follow him into the house that he enters, 11 and tell the owner of the house,[af] ‘The Teacher says to you, “Where is the guest room where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?”’ 12 Then he will show you a large furnished room upstairs. Make preparations there.” 13 So[ag] they went and found things[ah] just as he had told them,[ai] and they prepared the Passover.
