Psalm 63:1-8

Psalm 63[a]

A psalm of David, written when he was in the Judean wilderness.[b]

63 O God, you are my God. I long for you.[c]
My soul thirsts[d] for you,
my flesh yearns for you,
in a dry and parched[e] land where there is no water.
Yes,[f] in the sanctuary I have seen you,[g]
and witnessed[h] your power and splendor.
Because[i] experiencing[j] your loyal love is better than life itself,
my lips will praise you.
For this reason[k] I will praise you while I live;
in your name I will lift up my hands.[l]
As with choice meat[m] you satisfy my soul.[n]
My mouth joyfully praises you,[o]
whenever[p] I remember you on my bed,
and think about you during the nighttime hours.
For you are my deliverer;[q]
under your wings[r] I rejoice.
My soul[s] pursues you;[t]
your right hand upholds me.

Daniel 12:1-4

12 “At that time Michael,
the great prince who watches over your people,[a]
will arise.[b]
There will be a time of distress
unlike any other from the nation’s beginning[c]
up to that time.
But at that time your own people,
all those whose names are[d] found written in the book,
will escape.
Many of those who sleep
in the dusty ground will awake—
some to everlasting life,
and others to shame and everlasting abhorrence.[e]
But the wise will shine
like the brightness of the heavenly expanse.
And those bringing many to righteousness
will be like the stars forever and ever.

“But you, Daniel, close up these words and seal the book until the time of the end. Many will dash about,[f] and knowledge will increase.”

Revelation 3:1-6

To the Church in Sardis

“To[a] the angel of the church in Sardis write the following:[b]

“This is the solemn pronouncement of[c] the one who holds[d] the seven spirits of God and the seven stars: ‘I know your deeds, that you have a reputation[e] that you are alive, but[f] in reality[g] you are dead. Wake up then, and strengthen what remains that was about[h] to die, because I have not found your deeds complete[i] in the sight[j] of my God. Therefore, remember what you received and heard,[k] and obey it,[l] and repent. If you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will never[m] know at what hour I will come against[n] you. But you have a few individuals[o] in Sardis who have not stained[p] their clothes, and they will walk with me dressed[q] in white, because they are worthy. The one who conquers[r] will be dressed like them[s] in white clothing,[t] and I will never[u] erase[v] his name from the book of life, but[w] will declare[x] his name before my Father and before his angels. The one who has an ear had better hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’
