Psalm 93

Psalm 93[a]

93 The Lord reigns.
He is robed in majesty.
The Lord is robed;
he wears strength around his waist.[b]
Indeed, the world is established; it cannot be moved.
Your throne has been secure from ancient times;
you have always been king.[c]
The waves[d] roar, O Lord,
the waves roar,
the waves roar and crash.[e]
Above the sound of the surging water,[f]
and the mighty waves of the sea,
the Lord sits enthroned in majesty.[g]
The rules you set down[h] are completely reliable.[i]
Holiness[j] aptly adorns your house, O Lord, forever.[k]

1 Chronicles 12:16-22

16 Some from Benjamin and Judah also came to David’s stronghold. 17 David went out to meet them and said,[a] “If you come to me in peace and want to help me, then I will make an alliance with you.[b] But if you come to betray me to my enemies when I have not harmed you,[c] may the God of our ancestors[d] take notice and judge!” 18 But a spirit[e] empowered[f] Amasai, the leader of the group of warriors known as the Thirty, and he said:[g]

“We are yours, O David!

We support[h] you, O son of Jesse!

May you greatly prosper.[i]

May those who help you prosper.[j]

Indeed[k] your God helps you!”

So David accepted them and made them leaders of raiding bands.

19 Some men from Manasseh joined[l] David when he went with the Philistines to fight against Saul. (But in the end they did not help the Philistines because, after taking counsel, the Philistine lords sent David away, saying, “It would be disastrous for us if he deserts to his master Saul.”)[m] 20 When David[n] went to Ziklag, the men of Manasseh who joined him were Adnach, Jozabad, Jediael, Michael, Jozabad, Elihu, and Zillethai, leaders of 1,000 soldiers each in the tribe of Manasseh. 21 They helped David fight against raiding bands, for all of them were warriors and leaders in the army. 22 Each day men came to help David until his army became very large.[o]

Revelation 21:5-14

And the one seated on the throne said: “Look! I am making all things new!” Then[a] he said to me, “Write it down,[b] because these words are reliable[c] and true.” He also said to me, “It is done![d] I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the one who is thirsty I will give water[e] free of charge[f] from the spring of the water of life. The one who conquers[g] will inherit these things, and I will be his God and he will be my son. But as for the cowards, unbelievers, detestable persons, murderers, the sexually immoral, and those who practice magic spells,[h] idol worshipers,[i] and all those who lie, their place[j] will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur.[k] That[l] is the second death.”

The New Jerusalem Descends

Then[m] one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven final plagues came and spoke to me,[n] saying, “Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb!” 10 So[o] he took me away in the Spirit[p] to a huge, majestic mountain[q] and showed me the holy city, Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God. 11 The city possesses[r] the glory of God; its brilliance is like a precious jewel, like a stone of crystal-clear jasper.[s] 12 It has[t] a massive, high wall[u] with twelve gates,[v] with twelve angels at the gates, and the names of the twelve tribes of the nation of Israel[w] are written on the gates.[x] 13 There are[y] three gates on the east side, three gates on the north side, three gates on the south side and three gates on the west side.[z] 14 The[aa] wall of the city has twelve foundations, and on them are the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
